With a new regulation, the Icelandic government allows the pharmaceutical company Isteka and around 90 blood farms to stay in the blood business for another three years. Although the Icelandic population opposed the blood business with 66% in a public survey. The fertility hormone is often obtained brutally from the blood of Icelandic mares. It is mainly used in industrial piglet breeding in Europe. Experts from several industries (business, tourism, breeding associations) and researchers also criticise the extraction and use of the blood hormone PMSG. This short film summarises their arguments.
