Down Industry Exposed Again: Birds Electrocuted, Their Throats Slit for Feathers

Following an investigation by PETA and PETA Asia showing down-industry workers tearing live birds’ feathers out, many companies now claim to sell down only from birds who weren’t live-plucked. But as new undercover footage released by PETA Germany reveals, no matter at what stage birds’ feathers are torn out, down can never be considered “responsible” or “ethical.”

Eyewitnesses filmed workers at a slaughterhouse in Poland—the world’s second-largest down exporter—abusing ducks and geese and letting them slowly bleed to death while they were likely still conscious.
