Animal Equality is working to end the slaughter of nearly 30,000 American. horses every year. These sensitive and intelligent animals are transported hundreds of miles without food and water outside of our borders to be killed for their meat in Mexico and Canada. There is currently no federal ban on this practice despite the majority of Americans–83%—opposing this practice.

We have the power to end the unnecessary death of these animals many consider companions like dogs and cats.

On December 8, 2022, Animal Equality took images from this investigation and the voices of our supporters to Capitol Hill. Around a dozen protesters joined us in front of the Capitol building to call for an end to the slaughter of American horses.
